IPSITA DAS
My name is Ipsita Das and I will be attending the University of Pennsylvania in the fall to study Neuroscience on the pre-med track. I graduated in the top 5% of my class and attended the Academy of Science. Throughout high school, I was an active member in TSA, SCA, FBLA, and Girl Scouts. I also participated in an International Research Collaboration with other student researchers to study Parkinson’s disease and had the opportunity to travel to Korea to share findings. Over the summer, I attended Virginia’s Residential STEM Governor’s School and interned at Jeeva Informatics. I eventually applied to 20 colleges and built my application around my passion for neuroscience.
RIYA MAHESHWARI
My name is Riya Maheshwari and I am excited to attend Georgetown University this fall as a Human Science major. I was the valedictorian of my graduating class and in high school, I was extremely involved. I participated in DECA, attended a women’s empowerment summit in South Africa, volunteered regularly in the ER at StoneSprings Hospital Center, and interned over the summer at corporate YMCA through the Bank of America Student Leaders Program. Applying to 17 colleges, I focused my application story on the importance of civic learning and the role of business, even as a hopeful pre-medical student.
PRAMA MUKHERJEE
My name is Prama Mukherjee and I will be attending Virginia Tech this fall to major in Business Information Technology (BIT). I attended the Academy of Engineering and Technology on the Engineering pathway. Throughout high school, I was a dedicated member of TSA, took part in the Columbia University Girls in STEM Initiative, and interned over the summer at First Impression Dental. This summer, I am taking part in ManTech’s DFEND (Dominion Forensic Engineering and Development) internship program through which I will receive experience with reverse engineering and advanced forensics.
ESHA NAMA
My name is Esha Nama and I will be a Computer Science major in the Engineering School at the University of Virginia. I was part of the top 5% of my graduating class and I attended the Academy of Engineering and Technology as well. I was involved in the Technology Students Association and participated in a variety of programming competitions. I also volunteered as a Puppy Trainer for the Guide Dog Foundation and I was an active member in my Girl Scout Troop, which gave me the opportunity to be an intern for Senator Capito of West Virginia.
DEVANSHI RADADIYA
My name is Devanshi Radadiya and I will be attending the University of Virginia as a Biomedical Engineering major on the pre-med track. I graduated in the top 5% of my class and attended the Academy of Engineering and Technology on the Engineering pathway. Through the AET, I had the opportunity to conduct a biomedical engineering research project on sensor analysis of exhaled breath of lung cancer patients. During high school, I was a member of the TSA, debate team, and latin club. I also volunteered at Stone Springs Hospital and pursued my interest in medicine through internships at both NOVA Pediatric Dentistry and Capital Area Pediatrics. I am also a National Merit Scholarship Winner for 2020.
SUBHI SAIBABA
My name is Subhi Saibaba and I will be attending the University of Virginia to major in Neuroscience this fall. I attended the Academy of Science and was a part of the top 5% of my graduating class. Throughout high school, I was dedicated to various activities such as TSA, Girl Scouts, debate, and piano. I am also very passionate about research and had the opportunity to study preventative treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease, for which I competed in RSEF. Over the summers, I have volunteered for patient care and interned for a brain cancer/immunology lab at Children’s National Medical Center, interned for Congresswoman Wexton, and been a camp counselor at Camp Amistad.
